NY Times Repositioning

Landmark 86-acre property previously owned by NY Times Co., which included the 1,248,000sf printing facility, a warehouse, and a former golf course located at the crossroads of major roadways.

Our firm was contracted for the complete renovation of a NY Times printing facility and conversion to a 750,000sf dry warehouse facility which became a data center. Starting with environmental soil removal at the new column footings, the project included the removal of multiple print mezzanines, building utility rooms and systems. Two ends of the building were also removed and rebuilt for loading docks.

Relocating and reworking the primary power system included 7 sub transformers, and the earthwork required environmental subcontractor coordination to install a sub-slab soil treatment system. During construction of the 750,000sf speculative warehouse, RC Andersen completed the first phase of the data center work.
